Strategic People Analytics - 101

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide HR professionals with the quantitative skills and tools to analyze, interpret, and provide insights to leaders on key people practices (e.g. Talent Acquistion) and key financial outcomes (e.g. Revenue). 

 

In the course, participants will learn how to calculate, interpret, and present data via insights related to key human resources factors such as employee engagement, employee turnover, employee productivity, talent acquisition, and workforce planning. Data will be analyzed in relation to company financials such as revenue, return-on-sales, and operating profit. At the ending of the course, participants will create an analytical diagnostic and present insights using key findings via their own analysis. recommending business changes to improve HR and company performance.

Participants will also learn how to write computational formulas within Microsoft Excel, conduct pivot tables, execute data filtering/sorting, data and variable labeling, graphing and presenting of data.

 

Course Objectives:
Some of the key measures that participants will learn are percentages, percentiles, ratios, measures of variability, measures of central tendency, cost-benefit analyses, return-on-investment calculations, Pareto analyses, introduction to correlation, etc. In addition, participants will learn how to graphically present data and interpret their analyses to key stakeholders.
